The Diva’s 202nd challenge was to use Chebucto and Copada, two of Margaret Bremner’s patterns, in a duotangle.
Margaret Bremner is one of my favourite tanglers. She tends to follow Zentangle rules quite closely with nothing fancy, but she has a good eye for patterns that go well together and her tiles are always alive with contrast.
Both patterns are ribbon-shaped tangles, so I created ribbons out of them.
I initially wanted to fill the background with a variation of Copada. Then I changed my mind to creating a border around the four sides with Copada. Finally, I decided not to clutter things up and just embrace the white space :)
Very beautiful, I love the way they go round each other.
Thank you Annemarie!
Beautiful tile :)
Thanks Lily!
Lovely composition. Why didn’t I think of that?—and your two sided ribbons are inspired.
Thanks Suzanne! It seemed the natural thing since I thought of them both as ribbon patterns.
